What technical analysis studies
Technical analysis examines past and current price behavior to identify trends, ranges, momentum, and possible support or resistance. It does not predict outcomes with certainty; it provides a consistent way to frame probabilities and risk.
Price structure first
Using indicators
Moving averages can describe trend direction, oscillators can describe momentum, and volatility measures can help scale stops or expectations. Indicators derive from price and should confirm a defined idea rather than replace one.
Build a testable method
Write objective rules for entry, exit, and invalidation. Test those rules across different market conditions, include spread and slippage, and review whether the method still behaves as expected before using it with live capital.
